What's New?

 

We are delighted to announce the release of OpenRMA DX.
 

The new version of our repair shop software introduces a host of innovative features designed to give repair stores a competitive edge in the increasingly challenging repair industry. Managing your repair and return merchandise authorization (RMA) processes has become even more efficient with the latest enhancement in OpenRMA Repair Centre: Invoicing. This powerful addition enables users to streamline invoicing, receipt, and credit memo generation, thereby simplifying financial transactions and enhancing customer relationships.

We’ve been busy enhancing OpenRMA to provide you with a more robust and user-friendly experience. Here’s a summary of the latest improvements and new features:

 

☁️ Microsoft 365 Integration:
 

🔗 Added full support for connecting your Microsoft 365 account for Email.

⚙️ New dedicated Microsoft 365 Settings Page makes setup and management more intuitive.

📧 Support for sending automatic emails (check-in, check-out, estimates, and finished repairs) directly via Microsoft 365.

🚫 Added trial restrictions to prevent Microsoft 365 email usage in trial versions.

🔄 UI for connect/disconnect functionality and integration status checks.

 

📨 Email Enhancements:
 

🌐 Added support for both SMTP and Microsoft 365 providers.

👥 Introduced BCC handling (replacing CC) with improved logic for sending repair notifications.

📎 Multiple document types (Check-in, Check-out, Estimate) can now be attached with correct filenames.

⏳ A new splash screen appears during email sending, keeping you informed of progress.

 
💰 QuickBooks Online Improvements:
 

🇬🇧 Extended tax code and rate support for the UK region, including correct tax line assignments.

🧾 Added default tax-exempt selections and automatic refresh of tax codes when connecting to QBO.

✅ Fixed item name mapping and tax code assignments for more accurate invoice handling.

 

🎨 UI & Usability Updates

🖥️ Refined OptionsForm layout with smaller controls, margins, and paddings for a cleaner look on smaller screens.

⌨️ Added CTRL key functionality to set print copies quickly when generating reports.

🛠️ Improvements to accessory loading, inventory updates, and form translations.

New Features and Fixes in Version 2025.06.10

 

We've been busy enhancing OpenRMA to provide you with a more robust and user-friendly experience. Here's a summary of the latest improvements and new features:

 

🌍 Localization & Regional Enhancements

German Language Support: The New Inventory form is now available in German.

 

QuickBooks GB Region Logic:

 

New invoices are no longer created if you're in the Great Britain (GB) region.

Fixed an issue where editing invoices would stop if you were in the GB region.

Renamed instructions for the QuickBooks region on dropdown selection for clarity.

Company Currency Symbol & Localization: The company currency symbol now changes based on the selected locale, and financial reports automatically localize.

 

📊 QuickBooks Online (QBO) Integration Improvements

 

Taxation Rules:

 

Products can now be marked as taxable, and Taxcode ID is added when importing from QuickBooks Online.

Added new QBO Tax columns to inventory management.

Added QBO tax fields to the product table.

Improved QuickBooks Online Country Version handling to better manage taxation rules.

 

Invoice Management:

 

You can now create QuickBooks invoices directly from the Edit Invoice form.

Changed new invoice icons and added a test push invoice to QBO.

 

Customer Management:

 

Renamed the QuickBooks online button in customer management.

You can now push an OpenRMA customer to QuickBooks Online.

 

General QBO Enhancements:

 

Added a basic implementation for pushing an invoice to QuickBooks Online.

Added QBO unlink functionality and an indicator on the menubar.

Updated the script for the database and enhanced the invoice update process (addressing previous complexity).

 

🛠️ Application & UI Refinements

 

RMA Status: Added RMA Status field to print on forms.

Financial Center: The application bar is now hidden in the financial center to address UI issues.

Email Communication: Fixed sender name when sending an invoice/receipt/memo email.

Reporting: Added company name to the Balance Sheet.

Various Bug Fixes: Minor bugs have been resolved.

 

 

New Features and Fixes in Version 2025.05.18

 

• New Feature: Services Balance Sheet

A new balance sheet is now available for tracking services, grouped by Date and RMA.

 

ServiceTray is a versatile desktop application designed for computer technician shops and individual technicians to revolutionize customer communication, streamline support, and build lasting relationships.

This discreet tool resides in the Windows system tray, offering a suite of customizable features and cloud-based management capabilities.

At its heart, ServiceTray provides a powerful and personalized maintenance reminder system. After servicing a customer's device, technicians can install ServiceTray, configure a future maintenance date, and customize the notification that will appear when the time comes.”

 

• Improved Database Handling

Database schema versioning corrected and updated to support new features like audit logging.

 

• Audit Log Enhancements

Audit logs now record asset changes and display in the edit/view form. Logs are saved when new assets are created or updated.

 

• Asset Management Updates

"Shelf" field now prints on asset documents.

 

• New logic for default asset owner has been implemented and refined.

Support added for viewing and updating asset audit logs.

 

• POS Improvements

Default customer is auto-selected in POS.

POS screen translations updated for Greek.

 

• Translation corrections applied for French and Turkish.

• Form & Printing Enhancements

Phone numbers on print forms now display with + prefix.

Print templates support multiple locations (previously added in last release, maintained here).

Configuration file handling improved for safer restoration.
